Howard wants a dust-up?

O.k.

If we don't fight they will keep doing this.

Our democracy is not enough. Voting once every 3-4 years is clearly
insufficient in a world where communications are so connected, where
issues are so imminent.

So, the Victorian "catch a fire ministries" case you so vocally
supported was about "skin colour" was it? Seemed to be about people
quoting the koran.

So, what other areas of discussion should be banned, hypocrite?

It can vote the Howard government out too. You can't have it both ways,
you nanny-state hypocrite.

Just like racial vilification laws, where the citizen victims are
punished by the power of the state simply by speaking their mind. Of
course, you are just fine with this providing you don't like the
speech. You hypocrite.

If the government is legally allowed to do it, then it's legal. They
were elected to the parliament by the community.

Of course, your idea of "freedom" doesn't extend to people saying
things you don't like. Hypocrite.

LOL. Still waiting for you to actually find some examples of my "racist
hate speech".

....and it's always amusing to be lectured on "neo-fascism" by a
hypocrite who thinks speech he doesn't like should be banned...

"Minister pressures uni over history reading list"

- ABC 30/9/2006

The beginning of yet another assault by Howard
on Free speech and balance, as his Minister
tries to impose tory PC in place of Academic freedom!

"Macquarie University has affirmed its commitment to
academic freedom, after receiving a letter about course
material from the former education minister and now
Defence Minister, Brendan Nelson."

Poor bastards, the Ministry of Truth will now find
some one to financially punish them.. using some other
pretext of course, but it will be clear to all why
they have been punished - for disobeying their political
Masters.

"A spokesman for Dr Nelson says he was acting on behalf
of a concerned student when he wrote to the university
asking for the inclusion of more conservative material
on the reading list for a history subject."

This is the worst kind of political interference,
pressure to choose material because it supports a
particular partisan political perspective, rather
than on Academic merit alone!

"The letter urges the vice-chancellor to give the matter
his personal attention."

How often dose the minister lend his personal
attention to placing political pressure on the University
to accept politicians imposing a Politically Correct
ideology.. only on behalf of the conservative factions?

"A spokesman for Macquarie University says it is preparing
a response to the Minister and is also preparing an enhanced
policy on academic freedom."

Lets see.

Anti-defamation and anti-racist vilification laws
stop ALL liars and racists from lying, defaming or
vilifying people because of their skin colour!

The community CREATES the laws it finds necessary and
if the community doesn't like them, then it can change them.

However

Political interference in free speech by the State pitches
the power of the State against the less powerful citizen victims.

It's not a matter of law, something created by our democratic
parliament and reviewed by our judiciary, it's just one overbearing
Nazi smashing it's boot into the face of freedom.

Naturally a neo-fascist shitpig such as troppo can't tell
the difference, he simply resents any lawful restraint
on his racist hate-speech.
