I am working on a project called schome (not school - not home -
schome - the education system for the Information Age) and as part of
that we are developing a website that will contain all sorts of info
about past/present/future education.
At this point we are keen to develop some content on 'approaches' to
education (eg. Flexible schooling, Montessori, Universities of the
third age, etc) and on education systems in different countries.
We are looking for lots of folk (around 80) to write short chunks of
text for us about these topics (500 words each approx). The chunks
need to be written between now and mid July (the sooner the better).
This might suit folk who are interested in comparative education
and/or want to make a few quid and/or want to have some of their work
published.
The material will be edited by a professional editor - so we are
looking for great content more than fantastic writing style at this
point. The edited material will be published on a wiki, with an
acknowledgement of the original author (but clearly as it is on a wiki
it will be editable by other folk once published).
We will be paying a 'copyright fee' of £50 per chunk of text. We
anticipate selecting a small number of folk (2 to 5) from the original
group who we will offer the opportunity to do more work of a similar
nature.
If you are interested then please check out
http://kn.open.ac.uk/public/index.cfm?wpid=4075
for a bit more info, including a list of topics, an example 'chunk of
text' and some guidelines
for authors.
Thanks for your help.
