Books for the mcsd

Hi all
I'm moving into MCSD VB.NET track( 70-305, 70-306, 70-310, 70-300, 70-299)
and I have not a big knowledge of VB 6.0.
I'm looking for a study guide that can take me from the basics of .NET

Is the MCSD worth it Can you guys comment on wheter this certificate is worth it? The MCSE has become a joke in the industry wondering what the feeling is with regards to this.
